"The hotel is a good value for a short visit to Chicago downtown. The municipal bus service from next block brings you efficiently into the city. Do not insist on a room with lake view as a 6 lane highway runs in front of the hotel. The rooms to the back are more quiet. Carpets and wall paper may need some replacement, but the bath was clean and renovelled - a good value in comparison to other hotels. Breakfast is only possible in the near-by restaurant (maybe a bit expensive)"

"2 main problems: 1)The AC didn't work and I had to call maintenance DAILY to fix...although he did come quickly and got it working. Housekeeping would either turn it on high and room was freezing when I returned or they'd turn it off and it would be hot/stuffy and wouldn't turn back on. 2)Biggest complaint is that I looked at the phone, notebook and rate card next to phone to see if local calls had a charge to determine whether I could use my dial-up internet access. There was NO indication ANYWHERE of a charge, yet I was charged $.75 PER MINUTE for my calls. I attempted to discuss my concerns with the front desk, who told me to pay the bill and call the manager later. The manager said she had to talk to another manager (I thought I was calling the top dog). Then she never got back to me. BEST 2 things about this hotel are: (1) under $100.00 and (2) FREE PARKING!!! In Chicago, the latter is a HUGE expensive problem!"
